Hi there, I’m Paul! I decided to put this website together to help people get the most out of their lives. Get in Shape Today is about helping you to improve your health, wealth and happiness. I post regular articles looking at natural health, ways you can improve your finances and methods for helping you to achieve your goals – the things that bring you fulfilment and whatever you describe as ‘happiness’.

More About Me

My journey towards taking responsibility for my health started around 25 years ago. Nothing dramatic, but I developed what I learned was mild psoriasis. Luckily, it was mild as I found it can be much worse. I visited my doctor who was very interested (I think he must have enjoyed dermatology at medical school!) but couldn’t actually help me. He told me the medical profession didn’t really know what caused it and didn’t know how to fix it. He said steroid creams can help reduce symptoms but wouldn’t be a cure; besides that, he didn’t really like prescribing steroids. I was lucky, I guess to have an honest doctor!

This started me on a path on looking at my diet and lifestyle. I came to learn more about the importance of these factors in overall health – much more than just seeing if a doctor could fix things once I let them ‘go wrong’! Within the pages of this website I’ll share the things I learned with you so you may be able to benefit from my experience. And yes, I did find a way to manage my psoriasis that worked for me.

Just to be clear, nothing on this website should be taken as medical advice and I would always recommend you take advice from a doctor or health professional. Even if they don’t always have the answers you want!

How Can I Help With Your Finances?

I used to be a banker – well, I worked for a large bank for around twelve years (that was a long time ago now) and while at the time I held various financial planning qualifications I no longer give financial advice. I have also been self-employed for around 20-25 years. Twelve years as an employee taught me I preferred to work for myself.

I’ve been a driving instructor, also for around twelve years. While this has been rewarding, it is also limiting. Trading your time for money is limited to the number of hours you can work. Alongside my teaching roles, I have also been running a ‘side-hustle’ – using the internet to make an income. The beauty of this is it’s not limiting. I can make money ‘while I sleep’. Ok, I still have to work for it, but it gives me a lot of freedom to work from home, from the coffee shop, while travelling. Not on the beach though – sand in the laptop isn’t a good combination!

Happiness? Really?

I have no idea what makes you happy. Most people would probably appreciate good health and financial stability. Beyond that it’s a very personal, individual thing. However, there are ways to help you work towards your goals that I can help you with.
